A glowing complexion is beautiful, but a shiny greasy one is not. I’m sure we all agree on that. Besides looking like you just got back from a sweaty run, probably the rest of your makeup starts to look like wet clay!
I never understood “loose powder” till now. Why add an extra makeup product? Well, the answer I found was the obvious; avoiding shine, but also for two other reasons. One being: to refresh your makeup throughout the day, and the other, to combine your foundation and loose powder to get the perfect color match.
Although I love Tarte Smooth Operator™ Amazonian clay finishing powder, I gave New Sheer Finish Power Shade Extensions by Bobbi Brown a try. Bobbi has added three new shades to her Sheer Finish Powder collection: Soft Honey, Golden Brown and Warm Chestnut, which she created to complement warm to dark skin tones.
Finishing powder is Bobbi’s staple in her makeup kit. It sets foundation and creates a pretty flawless finish without looking too made-up. It is oil-free, ideal for those of us who tend to have oily skin.
I applied it over my foundation at around 10 a.m. and by the time I got home at 8 p.m., my makeup had held up shine-free. No cakey look! I did look tired, but that’s me, after a long day! It has a touch of vitamin E which is a plus.
Sheer Finish Powder is available in loose and pressed forms. The loose powder comes in a sleek, new sifter jar. I personally prefer the loose powder, easier to apply without overdoing it.
Available: September 2012 at all Bobbi Brown Counters and at www.bobbibrown.com.
