I was guided to my room through the patio where there is a beautiful fountain, chairs and tables set out to enjoy breakfast, work or just to relax. When we got to my room, I was pleasantly surprised! It was a beautiful suite. I had read “rustic” and I usually take that as “rundown,” but this was quite the opposite. The website’s pictures don’t do this quaint and elegant place Justice. (I was told they are going to upload better pictures.)
The room has two terraces, one in the bedroom which overlooks a cute street with the oldest wood school-house in the US, and the other in the livingroom, overlooking the beautiful sunset or dawn, Castillo de San Marcos and the water.
The bedroom is amazing. The bed, a dream to sleep in. A TV in a closet I didn’t have time to watch, and lots of light in the room. The decor is old-fashioned but beautiful.
The bathroom was big, quaint and had a jacuzzi! Very well thought out. Lot’s of extra plugs and towels. Even a dark-colored face cloth so you don’t feel guilty about ruining the white towels when removing your makeup. (The little details)
The kitchen and livingroom share the same space. There is enough room for a party! Everything was modern and new here. They keep you stocked up with a lot of coffee! They splurge on that!
What I found very interesting is that there were more than plenty wall fixtures to plug and charge all your devices: I-phone, i-pad, camera, and computer. In every single room!
The staff was so genuinely friendly, you wanted to talk to them!
Breakfast was great too. Next to the office check-in, you get a variety of options. Grab what you want and sit outside to enjoy the other friendly guests and the sound of the calming water fountain.
I’ve been in very upscale and impersonal hotels, but this one beats them all. You feel at home. Especially in such a beautiful city as St Augustine.
Hope you enjoy!
